How do credits work?

Credits are the currency inside AiMixUp. Every AI request costs a small number of credits, depending on the model you pick and the length of the answer. Each plan refills your credit balance every month, and active subscribers can top up extra credits any time they run out.

What is a Smart Folder?

Smart Folders let you organise chats by project or topic. The AI remembers context across every conversation inside a folder, so you never have to repeat yourself. Think of it as long term memory for each project.

Can I upload files like PDFs or documents?

Yes. Upload PDFs, DOCX, XLSX, and other file types directly into the chat. The AI reads and analyses the content, so you can ask questions, summarise, or extract data without copy and paste.

Is my data private? Are my prompts used for training?

Your prompts go to the AI provider you choose, over a secure connection. We use the paid production API tier of every provider: OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, and Google (Gemini). On the paid tier, none of them train their models on data sent through these APIs. AiMixUp itself does not use your prompts for training either.

Can other users see my chats?

No. Your chats, files, smart folders, and assistants are only visible to your own account.

Is my data encrypted?

Yes. Your connection to AiMixUp is encrypted, and your messages and AI replies are also encrypted inside our database. The key that unlocks them is kept separately from the data.

Are my uploaded files sent to other companies?

No. PDFs, DOCX, and XLSX files you upload are converted to text inside our own infrastructure before any AI call. We do not ship your files to a third party file processing service.

How do you protect my password?

We never store your password as plain text. It is saved only as a one way scrambled value (using bcrypt), so not even our own team can see what your password actually is. If you forget it, you reset it rather than recover it.

Do you sell my data or share it with advertisers?

No. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or for training their AI models.

Can I use AiMixUp for my team or business?

Yes. You can create a shared Workspace, invite teammates by email, and pay per seat from one place. Each member gets their own login and inherits the workspace plan, so the whole team works from a shared pool of credits. Open Settings, then Workspace to get started.

How do I invite people to my workspace?

Open Settings, then Workspace, then "Invite member" and enter their email. They receive an invitation link; once they accept they join your workspace and inherit its plan. You can resend or cancel a pending invite, and remove a member, from the same screen.

How does team billing and seats work?

Team plans are billed per seat. The number of seats you pay for is the number of members who can be active in the workspace, and every member draws from the shared workspace credit balance. Add or remove seats from Settings, then Workspace, then Billing; changes are prorated.

Can I have a group chat with other people and the AI?

Yes. You can create a group chat with several people and one or more AI assistants in the same room. Everyone sees the conversation, and the assistants reply to the whole group. You can also create a human only chat with no assistant if you just want to talk to your teammates.

How do I add or remove a contact?

Open a person's profile or a direct message and use "Add contact" to connect, or "Remove contact" to disconnect. Removing a contact keeps your existing direct message history but stops new messages; it does not delete the other person's account.

Can I make voice or video calls?

Yes. You can start a voice or video call from a chat. Calls run in real time in the browser and the mobile app, and you can share your screen during a video call.

Are calls transcribed or recorded?

Optionally. During a call you can turn on live transcription (speech to text) and recording. Transcription and recording use AI and cost a small number of credits while they are active; you can turn them off at any time. Recordings and transcripts are stored privately on your account.

Is there a desktop app?

Yes, there is a Windows desktop app. Download the installer from https://aimixup.com and sign in with the same account you use on the web. The desktop app can also run small AI models locally on your own machine.

Can I run AI offline or locally?

Partly. The Windows desktop app and the Android app can run small open models directly on your device, so basic chat keeps working without sending anything to a cloud provider. The larger frontier models (Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok) still run in the cloud.

Which AI model should I choose?

Pick by the job. Claude is great for long form writing and careful reasoning, GPT is a strong all rounder, Gemini is cost effective for bulk work, and Grok is a strong value alternative. You can switch models in the middle of any chat, and image capable models appear in the same selector for image generation.

Image Studio is a dedicated screen for creating and editing images. You can generate an image from a prompt, then refine it with image to image edits on a canvas, instead of doing everything inline in a chat. Each generation or edit costs a small number of credits.

What is a folder Wiki?

Every Smart Folder can generate a Wiki: an automatically written, living summary of everything in the folder (its chats, files, and data sources). It gives you a single readable overview of the project that refreshes as the folder changes.

Can I connect data sources to a folder?

Yes. Beyond uploading files, you can add data sources to a Smart Folder so their content is pulled in, scanned, and made searchable for every chat in the folder. The folder Wiki and answers then take that material into account.

How do I buy more credits or change my plan?

Open Settings, then Billing. From there you can upgrade or downgrade your plan and, on a paid plan, top up extra credits any time you run low. Paid plans also refill your credit balance automatically every billing period.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes. Open Settings, then Billing, then manage your subscription to cancel. You keep access until the end of the current billing period, after which the plan stops renewing. You can resubscribe later at any time.
